Senior Backend Engineer

Futrli·Belfast·£45 - £55k

About the Role

We're looking for a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our team in Belfast, with experience across a range of frameworks and tools. You'll work in a cross functional team, having ownership and responsibility for the contributions you make to our existing (and new!) services.

About You

You're an enthusiastic engineer who enjoys solving problems and architecting features. You’ll have a broad toolkit from which to choose the right tool for the job, and you’ll enjoy using existing solutions well to achieve your goals.

You’ll love working with other engineers to design and implement software to the best of your shared abilities in a culture where feedback is welcomed and well received.

You’ll take pride in delivering high quality, well tested, simple code solutions that do just what they need to do. You’ll probably have a track record of implementing proven design patterns to do this.

Seeing your code make it into production makes you tick. With a willingness to help out with each step in that process from architecture to final deployment and testing.

What does success look like?

Successful Senior Backend Engineers at Futrli are able to implement a wide range of system features to satisfy the requirements of our Product team. They pick the right tool for the job, and prefer to use existing AWS services where possible to avoid rolling their own.

All of our code is rigorously peer reviewed, and our Engineers pride themselves in delivering high quality, well thought out, tested work. Our system is deployed to a scalable production environment, so simplicity and ease of debugging are also key features we look for.

We work in an open, helpful, collaborative way, and it is important that you are happy to give feedback on the work of others, and equally to receive feedback on your work. By working together so openly, we deliver software to the best of our combined abilities.
