Head of Engineering at My Baggage 

We are looking for a senior full stack .Net developer with 5+ years experience of .NET and HTML/CSS/Javascript with particular focus on API’s and automation to lead our team. You should be used to working an agile process and distributed development. Opportunity to lead a small team in Belfast, Titanic Quarter.

My Baggage (previously Uni Baggage) is changing the way people move abroad, making it easier for them to take the things they care about with them, whether​ for a job abroad, to travel or study. We are looking for someone who wants to make their mark and help grow the business even further. You will have control over the design requirements and will be working with the development team and report to the managing director. 

We are looking for an ambitious individual to join our team, you will be leading the development of our web services and will be instrumental to the success of our continued growth. You should be interested in modern technology and methods of working.

You will involved in the hands-on Design & Development, Deployment & Support of JavaScript & .NET based platforms, frameworks, and applications. The solution across Front and Backend parts of the platform. Working closely with designers/Product Owner and the Managing Director. You will be responsible for creating the infrastructure to manage deployment of code for yourself and other developers.

Technical Skills (5+ Years)

  • Visual Studio, C#, .NET framework 4.0, MVC 4 / Razor, ASP.NET
  • Agile software development, Unit Testing, MOQ
  • JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, Web services
  • SSIS, Entity Framework and T-SQL

Experience:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science or equivalent with 10+ years of programming experience in the field of Computer Engineering and Development
  • Solid communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to work with product owners remotely.
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in building scalable, secure & distributed systems ideally on the .NET stack
  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience with designing & building customer facing software platforms
  • Minimum 7+ years of strong hands-on development experience with JavaScript and related open source technologies
  • Excellent understanding of Nodejs, ReactJS, Html5, CSS3, Jquery, bootstrap 3+
  • Excellent understanding of .NET, MS SQL Server and other elements of the Microsoft development environment.
  • Proven ability to quickly grasp the implications of evolving industry trends & technology intersects
  • Strong understanding of the Software design/architecture process
  • Experience with web servers & application servers such as IIS, Apache and Nginx
  • Solid understanding of how to use tools like git, jira, and Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of JS unit testing frameworks and .Net unit testing frameworks
  • Working experience with OAuth, REST, JSON, XML
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Working knowledge of Web Design and UX

Competitive Salary; £45,000-£65,000 DOE
